It is supplied as a compressed, liquefied gas. Hydriodic acid is also known as hydrogen iodide. Hydroiodic acid (or hydriodic acid) is an aqueous solution of hydrogen iodide. It is a strong acid, one that is ionized completely in an aqueous solution.
