Synopsis
An inorganic binder is an inorganic ingredient used to bind together two or more other materials in mixtures. Its two principal properties are adhesion and cohesion. Characteristics: Produce strong final agglomerates, permanently bond particles, withstand the rigors of storage, handling, packaging & shipping.Organic binders are combustible and are destroyed by heat. Hence they contribute a degree of collapsibility to the core and mould sand mixture. The commonly used organic binders are core oil (0.5 to 3 %), cereal (0.5 to 2 %), resins, plastics, pitch, dextrin, molasses, rosin, lignin, casein, gelatin, wood flour etc.Inorganic binders are not combustible and may have considerable strength at high temperatures, resistance to erosion and relatively non-collapsables depending on their nature. The commonly used inorganic binders in core and mould making are Fire clay (< 2 %), bentonites (0.5 to 2 %), silica flour (< 30 %), iron oxide, sodium silicate etc.
Global Inorganic Binder market is projected to reach US$ 158.5 million in 2029, increasing from US$ 131 million in 2022, with the CAGR of 3.1% during the period of 2023 to 2029. Influencing issues, such as economy environments, COVID-19 and Russia-Ukraine War, have led to great market fluctuations in the past few years and are considered comprehensively in the whole Inorganic Binder market research.
The global inorganic binder market refers to the market for binders or adhesives that are primarily composed of inorganic materials. Inorganic binders are widely used in various industries for bonding or adhering different materials, such as metals, ceramics, glass, and refractories. The market for inorganic binders is driven by several factors, including the increasing demand for durable and high-performance materials in construction, automotive, aerospace, and other industrial applications. Inorganic binders offer excellent heat resistance, chemical stability, and mechanical strength, making them suitable for applications that require long-lasting and reliable bonding. Inorganic binders can be classified into different types based on their composition, such as silicate binders, phosphate binders, alumina-silicate binders, and calcium aluminate binders. These binders are often supplied in powdered form and are mixed with water or other liquid additives to form a paste or slurry that can be applied to the materials being bonded. They undergo a curing process, which can involve heat, chemical reactions, or drying, to form a strong and durable bond. Geographically, the global inorganic binder market is spread across regions such as North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa. Market growth is influenced by factors such as construction activities, infrastructure development, industrial growth, and technological advancements in manufacturing processes. Technological advancements and innovations in inorganic binders are important trends in the market. Manufacturers invest in research and development to improve the performance characteristics of binders, such as adhesion strength, chemical resistance, and workability. Additionally, efforts are being made to develop eco-friendly and sustainable binders that reduce the environmental impact of the manufacturing and application processes. The market for inorganic binders faces challenges such as fluctuating raw material prices, the need for specialized application and handling techniques, and the availability of alternative bonding technologies. Additionally, stringent environmental regulations regarding emissions and waste disposal pose ongoing challenges for manufacturers.
