VGF crucible is a special crucible for single crystal growth, it is one of the key components to grow single crystal material by Vertical Gradient Freeze (VGF) method. The VGF method is a commonly used single crystal growth technology, mainly used to grow semiconductor materials, such as silicon, gallium, phosphide, etc. The main features of VGF crucibles are good heat conduction performance and temperature gradient control ability. It is usually made of materials with high melting point, such as graphite, quartz, etc. The structure of a VGF crucible generally includes a bottom, a side wall and a top, wherein the bottom is used for heating, the top is used for cooling, and the side wall is used to control the temperature gradient. During VGF growth, the molten portion of material is placed on the bottom of the VGF crucible and melted by heating. Then, by controlling the temperature at the bottom of the crucible and the cooling rate at the top, a temperature gradient can be created in the molten material. The material is gradually cooled from the molten state, allowing it to gradually solidify into a single crystal. The VGF crucible plays a key role in the VGF growth process. It can provide a stable temperature gradient and heat conduction, so that single crystal materials can grow under suitable temperature conditions.
