Synopsis
FFF 3D printer heats the filament (PLA, ABS, PET, etc.) to make it soft and malleable and places it in successive layers on a tray. The material is extruded through the nozzle of the extruder and first deposited onto a 3D printing platform, which can be heated for extra adhesion. After the first layer is complete, the extruder and platform are separated in one step, and then the second layer can be deposited directly on the growing workpiece. When the part has fragile areas (for example a tray on a narrow base), it is necessary to provide support areas that will be removed after the part has been manufactured.
