A lidar 3D scanner is a device used to acquire three-dimensional point cloud data. It uses a laser beam to scan the surrounding environment and determines the position and shape of the target object by measuring the reflection of the laser beam in space.
These scanners typically consist of a laser transmitter, receiver and associated electronics. The working principle is that the lidar 3D scanner emits a laser beam, and when the laser beam intersects with an object, reflection and scattering of light will occur. A receiver picks up the reflected light and measures the time-of-flight, or phase difference, of the laser beam to determine the distance and position of the object. By scanning the direction and angle of the laser beam, the three-dimensional coordinate information of the object can be obtained to form point cloud data. LiDAR 3D scanners are widely used in various fields, including architecture and construction, industrial manufacturing, robot navigation, geological exploration, automotive driving assistance systems, etc. It can be used to quickly build 3D models, measure the size and shape of objects, perform environment reconstruction and positioning and navigation tasks.
