Precision metering integrating sphere is a device used for precise measurement of optical performance and optical components.

It usually consists of a spherical shell coated with high reflectivity materials such as aluminum or nickel plating. The interior of the spherical shell also includes one or more optical ports for introducing and detecting light. These optical ports usually include the inlet and outlet ports. The working principle of precision metering integrating sphere is based on the reflection and diffuse reflection characteristics of light. When light enters the interior of the spherical shell from the incident light port, it will reflect multiple times on the inner wall of the spherical shell and interact with the sample or detector inside the shell. The multiple reflections of light inside the spherical shell will result in uniform distribution of light within the sphere, thus achieving integrated measurement of light. During the measurement process, the sample or optical element to be tested can be placed inside the spherical shell or measured through the optical port of the spherical shell. When light interacts with a sample or component, a portion of the light is absorbed, transmitted, or reflected, while the other portion is reflected multiple times along the inner wall of the sphere, ultimately measured by the detector. By measuring the optical signal received by the detector, the optical parameters and performance of the sample or component can be calculated.
