Synopsis
Vacuum contactor arc extinguishing chamber, also known as vacuum switch tube, is the core component of medium and high voltage power switches. Its main function is to control and protect the circuit by opening and closing metal contacts in a vacuum environment. The basic structure of the vacuum contactor arc extinguishing chamber includes the following parts: Vacuum tube shell: used to seal the vacuum environment inside the vacuum arc extinguishing chamber, usually made of ceramic or glass materials. Contact system: composed of fixed contacts, movable contacts and contact springs, used to make and break current in vacuum. Operating mechanism: composed of electromagnets, springs, rods, etc., used to drive the opening and closing of the contact system. Protective cover: used to protect the contact system from external mechanical damage or contamination. The working principle of the vacuum contactor arc extinguishing chamber is that when the contact system is closed, the current forms a loop through the contact system; when the contact system is separated, the current forms an arc between the contacts, and the metal vapor generated by the arc is trapped in the vacuum tube shell. The shielding plate absorbs the current, thereby realizing the interruption of the current. Due to the excellent insulation performance of the vacuum environment, the arc duration and arc voltage are very low, so the vacuum contactor arc extinguishing chamber has the advantages of strong arc extinguishing ability, long contact life, low noise, and no pollution.
